When we last spoke with CEO Drew Love at the end of 2024, he detailed how the company was investing in\u00a0new technologies\u00a0to\u00a0optimize\u00a0operations. While technology is still a key focus for\u00a0WireMasters, Drew is keen to update us on the latest developments from across the business, including the addition of an \u2018industry legend,\u2019 Bo Corn, and a deeper commitment to investing in people.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve successfully implemented several projects and technologies, and we\u2019re starting to see efficiency gains within our operations,\u201d Drew opens. \u201cWhen we last spoke, we had recently implemented a new e-commerce platform, so\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0now had our first full year of\u00a0leveraging\u00a0the benefits of this system, and\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0looking to deploy the system around the globe.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve\u00a0had robotic process automation (RPA) processes, but the combinations of RPA and the advancement of Agentic AI style models in unstructured data environments allows us to\u00a0eliminate\u00a0human data entry across the business. This enables our employees to spend more time on value-added activities like working on relationships and boosting customer experience. In fact,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0WireMasters\u2019 goal to\u00a0eliminate\u00a0human data entry across the business over the next three years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re at an exciting time where we\u2019re pivoting the business to focus on engineering and strengthen our technical prowess,\u201d he shares. \u201cDistribution in our industry has historically been viewed from a transactional perspective, but\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0bringing something new by focusing on the engineering side.\u00a0We\u2019ve\u00a0also hired Bo as a Strategic Advisor, who is a well-known individual in our sector and brings decades of\u00a0expertise, as well as longstanding relationships with several of our customers.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Following Drew\u2019s update on the company,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0keen to hear from Bo about his career journey and what he brings to\u00a0WireMasters. \u201cI spent the first 44 years of my career working for two corporations within manufacturing, having worked on high-profile aerospace and\u00a0defense\u00a0initiatives,\u201d Bo reflects. \u201cHowever, my relationship with\u00a0WireMasters\u00a0is not new, but instead dates to 1988, as\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0been part of the company\u2019s supply chain since its early days and have since formed a strong relationship with the current owner. Being a former supplier to\u00a0WireMasters\u00a0gives me an outsider perspective and enables me to build or strengthen relationships from a customer viewpoint.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWireMasters\u00a0has always been a leader in the sector\u2019s distribution channels, but I was mostly drawn to the business because of its commitment to people, both internally and externally,\u201d he says. \u201cIn terms of customers,\u00a0WireMasters\u00a0provides everything imaginable to the customer from the beginning to the very end, but the area that needs strengthening lies in the technical\u00a0expertise\u00a0required\u00a0to deliver full solutions. With me now on board, we can provide everything a customer needs and in a more profitable way, solidifying the position of\u00a0WireMasters\u00a0as a leading global supplier.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Elaborating on building relationships with engineering professionals, Drew adds: \u201cWe\u2019ve\u00a0always been focused on customer experience, but our customers\u2019 procurement and engineering teams are often siloed, which makes it difficult for us to build relationships with two cross functional teams that sometimes\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0interact with each another. With Bo\u2019s history and experience,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0hoping his introduction to engineering groups will foster warm relationships and allow us to deliver technical\u00a0expertise.\u00a0We\u2019re\u00a0building a team around Bo that will be a new functional group within our sales department to focus on working with engineering rather than procurement teams.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The company\u2019s approach to customer relationships also applies to its employees, with several initiatives underway to create a positive working environment and support professional development. \u201cWhen I first started, there were around 20 employees, and for many years, we didn\u2019t have documented core values or a mission and vision statement, but that\u2019s not to say that we didn\u2019t have a culture,\u201d Drew reflects. \u201cOur culture was created from the top down, with our owner, David Hill, setting the tone of expectations, so although we\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0have official documents, we\u00a0operated\u00a0a shared unspoken culture that everyone understood.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve\u00a0now documented our values of quality, service, family, gratitude, excellence, and integrity, to ensure\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0all working together towards a common goal. Any business can have a great strategy on paper, but a successful one needs the right people to execute the plan.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0a big believer that every employee\u2019s experience of working at\u00a0WireMasters\u00a0is closely related to their direct manager.
