Delivering connectivity solutions to businesses across the UK, CHH Conex has seen ongoing success for over 30 years. Since coming under new ownership in 2022, the company has entered a bold new chapter. With an\u00a0all new\u00a0Customer Collaboration\u00a0Center, sustainable strategies, and an exciting new brand identity, Chief Executive Officer, Paul Turner, has big plans for the business. As Paul begins: \u201cCHH Conex has seen two major transformations over the last year, including\u00a0a new solutions\u00a0offering, and a complete restructuring of the company\u2019s organizational strategy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHistorically, the business has been structured around two primary business units. In the coming months\u00a0we\u2019ll\u00a0be shifting our focus to capabilities and solutions. Our existing units, design, engineering and manufacturing, and managed services, will see greater\u00a0synergy\u00a0and integration through this new system.<\/span> \"a<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe current structure divides the business in half; one side manages manufacturing and the other looks after warehousing and\u00a0logistics. In reorganizing the business, our goal is to focus on four core capabilities \u2014 product solutions, technical services, managed services, and life cycle solutions, which will support a variety of industries including telecoms, rail, nuclear, smart metering, EV, and solar, amongst many others.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn structuring the business this way, we hope to drive innovation. We will bring teams together to work on a shared goal, as opposed to only focusing on one part of the business.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve\u00a0also introduced an entirely new aspect to the business. As a product solutions provider, we primarily\u00a0procure\u00a0products on behalf of our clients. However, in the last year,\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0launched our very own brand, which is called CONEX. Clients can now choose from a range of premium brand solutions, with CONEX sitting alongside our core offering.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn blending our own-brand products with premium solutions that clients know and love,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0expanding and diversifying our offering. We can deliver solutions for a range of goods, including consumables, tools, uniforms, personal protective equipment, as well as offer technical services, managed services, and life cycle solutions.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Having primarily\u00a0operated\u00a0as an assembly subcontractor and manufacturing service for many years, CHH Conex is now looking to highlight to customers that it is a full technical services provider: \u201cWe have capabilities in engineering, 3D printing, and combined technical solutions. We also run an advanced warehousing and\u00a0logistics\u00a0operation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWith all these tools in our belt, we felt it was time to begin offering an integrated solution. With our own team of drivers, and ever-growing fleet of vehicles,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0now able to offer final mile\u00a0logistics\u00a0for engineers in the field. Our new facility in Chesterfield is 45,000 square feet, and with this capacity\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0capable of delivering a complete service that brings products and solutions directly to our customer base.\u00a0We\u2019ve\u00a0also set up a PUDO system, meaning Pick Up and Drop Off with more than 500 locations across the UK. Customers can use the PUDO system for shorter lead times and more convenient access to products.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To help bring clients, stakeholders, and suppliers into the world of CHH Conex, the company has recently launched an all-new Customer Collaboration\u00a0Center. As Heather Turner, Chief Marketing Officer, discusses: \u201cThe new collaboration\u00a0center\u00a0is important to us. The space is designed to\u00a0showcase\u00a0our new capabilities and\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0the company\u2019s innovative potential. Visitors to the\u00a0center\u00a0can\u00a0come and see\u00a0our physical\u00a0products, both on display and in action. Where some of our products are too large to fit in the\u00a0center\u00a0itself,\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0got 3D printed models and supplementary materials to help show them off.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve\u00a0got some mannequins, which are all fitted out with the uniforms we supply, and a variety of touch screens to take customers through the\u00a0full service\u00a0offering. Our mission was to give people an interactive experience, a way of stepping into our culture and seeing the work we do firsthand \u2014 as opposed to death by PowerPoint.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to the product exhibitions,\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0got meeting rooms and a social area, complete with comfortable seats and refreshments.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0a nice open space, so people can roam freely and browse at their leisure.\u00a0We\u2019ve\u00a0also got a high-end board room upstairs for important meetings, lunches, and celebrations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Customer Collaboration\u00a0Center\u00a0is designed to bring the CHH Conex story to life for stakeholders, suppliers, and potential customers.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0separate from the rest of the company, although everything is\u00a0maintained\u00a0to the same standard.\u00a0We\u2019ve\u00a0recently renovated our offices, so that all our spaces are equipped and ready for the next chapter.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"As a major supplier of sustainable technology, CHH Conex is always striving to reduce its environmental impact. As Heather reveals: \u201cWe introduced our sustainability strategy just over a year ago, and\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0currently\u00a0in the process of developing\u00a0our yearly report.\u00a0There\u2019s\u00a0been a lot of change at the company, and we wanted to ensure that our sustainability strategy reflected the values of the business as it is today.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve\u00a0brought a specialist consultant on board, who has lots of experience in helping large operations reduce carbon emissions and work toward net zero. Our plan is to implement new lifecycle solutions, as well as some new strategies for waste reduction. Our goal is to reuse as much waste material as possible and recycle anything that cannot be repurposed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWaste management and disposal is just one part of our sustainability mission. Our long-term strategy will cover energy efficient solutions, and the implementation of green initiatives throughout the business.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From people and profit to planet, 2025 promises to be a big year for CHH Conex. As Paul concludes: \u201cFor the rest of the year,\u00a0we\u2019ll\u00a0be focused on fully implementing our new organizational design. We want to increase our focus on customer orientated solutions, and\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0brought on some operational experts to help manage this transformation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWith this shift in structure,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0also looking to enhance our working culture.\u00a0We\u2019ll\u00a0be bringing in more formal processes for career progression, performance reviews, and increased pay. Our people are innovators, creators, and inventors \u2014 we want to make sure\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0rewarding them for all the\u00a0hard work\u00a0they put into making CHH Conex an industry leader.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFinally,\u00a0we\u2019ll\u00a0continue\u00a0establishing\u00a0our final mile and life cycle solutions business, as these are two of our key growth areas for the coming year. To help get the word out about all these major changes,\u00a0we\u2019ll\u00a0be revamping our messaging and design, as well as the company website.
